Clari-Fi

Clari-Fi uses blurring to simulate the challenges of viewing small details on packs and display screens

Online version of Clari-Fi Pro

This tool applies a calibrated level of Gaussian blurring to e-commerce images, in order to help evaluate their visual clarity.

If you haven’t done so already, please first read the introduction, which includes a summary of the assessment process, and also describes how the Clari-Fi Check Levels are calibrated to population data.

To start using the Clari-Fi Pro tool, use the ‘Choose files’ button below to select any number of image files. To ensure the quality of the simulations, each of these images should have at least 350 pixels (on the longest side). The images will be processed locally by your computer; they are not transferred over the Internet.

By default, this tool uses a level of blurring that corresponds to a thumbnail size of 16 x 16 mm, which is typical for a mobile search results page. This can be changed using the drop-down menu below.

When viewing the blurred versions of the images, they should be presented at a reasonably large size, such that moving closer or further away from the screen does not make any difference to the details that can be perceived.

This service is designed for desktop use only.
